HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE - Undergrad student Matthias De Kok shares his experience as a research assistant intern with Sleep & Health Applied Research Program Lab in Portland.

CINEMA STUDIES, MATHEMATICS - Abby Lewis, a fourth-year mathematics and cinema studies major, hopes to address the divide between mathematics vs. arts students in her second children’s book, Moose and the Math Fairy, earlier this year. “Math is in patterns, and it’s all around us in the world," Lewis said.

CHEMISTRY AND BIOCHEMISTRY - We are pleased to announce the recipients of our 2024 Graduate Student Community Builder Award - Ashley Mapile and Harrison Reid. The award recognizes graduate students for their exceptional contributions to building an inclusive, supportive, collaborative, and respectful environment within our Department.

MATHEMATICS - Jaida Ross and Klaudia Kazimierska have earned spots on the 2023-24 College Sports Communications (CSC) Academic All-America Team. Kazimierska, who is majoring in mathematics, was voted to the second team. She's representing Poland at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris in the 1500-meter track and field event.

HUMAN PHYSIOLOGY - As a senior human physiology major in the College of Arts and Sciences, Colleen Uzoekwe works in Exercise and Environmental Physiology Labs in the Bowerman Sports Science Center, conducting research on muscle temperature changes with sauna sessions.
