Congratulations, Graduating Ducks!

The Human Physiology department joyously celebrates and extends heartfelt congratulations to our graduating majors! The department's commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 15, at 4:00 pm, at Matthew Knight Arena.

IMPORTANT

The Arena has a clear-bag policy. You can only bring one clear bag per guest. Please see the policy details here and share with your family.

Helpful Tips to Plan Ahead for Ceremony Day

  • You must officially apply to graduate on DuckWeb to RSVP to the department ceremony. After you submit your application to graduate, you will receive an email inviting you to RSVP.
  • Arrive early! Parking may be limited, and arriving early can help your family have a smooth experience.
  • Walk or carpool to campus.
  • On Sunday, June 15, there will be an ADA access shuttle operating on campus for those with conditions that impact mobility.
  • Commencement is a rain-or-shine event, so prepare accordingly.
  • No pets (except service animals), balloons, or glass will be permitted inside the arena.
  • Empty water bottles or sealed water bottles only will be permitted inside the arena. Water will be available to fill empty bottles. Concession stands in the arena will be open with food & beverages for purchase.
  • The ceremony will not be livestreamed.

Call time for the graduate lineup: 3 pm

Commencement Start Time: 4 pm (expect ~90 min ceremony)

Graduates: Wear your regalia and check in at the registration table at the west entrance (faces Hamilton Hall/Agate St.), where you will pick up your name card and be directed to line up for the procession. Guest entrances are listed below.

  • Graduates will be seated and presented in order of arrival.
  • Ushers will provide directions to the stage when your row is called.

Note: Directly after Commencement, HPHY Faculty and Staff will gather on the northwest side of the arena by the bronze duck statue near the Ford Alumni Center to greet students and celebrate with family and friends.

Things to Remember
  • Make sure you have applied for the correct term to receive your degree (diploma). Students who plan to finish all their requirements during the summer or fall term are also welcome to participate.  You do not have to graduate in Spring 2025 to walk in the ceremony. If you're confused about the degree application process, email: asu4commencement@uoregon.edu.

No tickets or RSVPs are required; enter at the north and east entrances (Facing Villard St. or Franklin Blvd). Guests can start entering the venue after the prior commencement guests have exited (which ends at 3 pm). Seating is first-come-first-served. No advanced seating is available. ADA seating is available for guests with wheelchairs and limited mobility. Only 1 additional person may accompany the guest in this area. Guests must bring their own mobility devices; volunteers will be available to assist with seating. The ADA entrance is located at the north entrance of the venue.
